Access and Facilities
Brighton Fishing Museum is located within two arches on the seafront to the west of Brighton Pier. The seafront can be accessed by a ramp and the Museum is on the ground level. It is free to enter the Museum and you do not need to book your visit in advance. The Fishing Quarter Office is on the left-hand side as you enter the Museum.
Physical access
Most areas of the Museum are accessible for wheelchair users and people with mobility scooters. There is a metal threshold and grate at the entrance to the Museum which makes the flooring slightly uneven. Inside the Museum most of the flooring is flat, with two gently sloped ramps in the main arch and one gently sloped ramp leading through to the second arch. However, there are 6+5 steps that lead up and along the side of the boat. Seating is available throughout the Museum. You can find out more by going on a virtual tour: https://www.seafrontheritage.co.uk/virutal-tour
Toilets
There are no toilets inside the Museum. The closest public toilets are a 2 minute walk away. To find these toilets, turn right out of the Museum and follow the path. The toilets are on the left-hand side.
The closest disabled toilet and Changing Places toilet are a 10 minute walk away. To find these toilets, turn left out of the Museum and walk up the ramp, past the pier and SEA LIFE Brighton, onto Madeira Drive. The toilets are on the left-hand side.
